Salary: $76,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Our client is seeking Stationery Plant Operator to join their team located in Shepparton, Victoria.

As a Stationary Plant Operator it is a critical role within dairy manufacturing and distribution operations. This position involves the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment in the production facility, with responsibility for ensuring compliance with food safety standards, quality control, and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team in the busy production environment, contributing to the daily operations that are essential to our business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operating bag filler equipment during production runs
• Verifying pre- and post-production CIP (Clean-in-Place) procedures and documentation
• Conducting routine safety checks and reporting maintenance issues promptly
• Reporting to Food Safety Supervisor regarding any non-conformances or operational issues
• Maintaining accurate records of daily production activities
• Ensuring accurate labelling of all consignments
• Applying use-by dates and batch codes correctly and consistently
• Participating in forward and backward product traceability processes
• Adhering to WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) and HACCP food safety standards in all storage and handling tasks
• Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the production and warehouse areas.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential

• AQF Certificate II or III in relevant field
• At least one (1) year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
• Proven experience operating stationary plant and production equipment
• Strong understanding of food safety standards and HACCP principles
• Knowledge of WHS requirements in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to maintain detailed, accurate production and safety records
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

• Experience in dairy manufacturing or food processing
• Relevant qualifications or certificates in food safety or plant operation
• Experience with CIP systems and production traceability processes

Work Environment

This position is based in a busy dairy manufacturing facility. The work environment includes exposure to production noise, temperature-controlled areas, and operational equipment. The role requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of moderate loads. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times in designated areas. The successful applicant must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to varying production schedules.
