Electrical Engineering Technician Full Time

Position: Electrical Engineering Technician

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Tarneit VIC 3029

Our client is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to join their team located in Tarneit, Victoria.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Planning Support

• Site Assessments: Conduct on-site evaluations to assess solar potential and feasibility.
• Design Assistance: Use CAD software (like AutoCAD) to assist in the design and modeling of solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage systems.
• Documentation: Support the preparation of technical documentation, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and reports for solar installations.

Installation and Assembly

• Equipment Installation: Assemble, install, and test electrical components for solar installations in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
• Wiring: Perform complex electrical wiring tasks.
• System Modifications: Create, implement, and document hardware modifications for solar plant systems.

Testing and Maintenance

• Performance Testing:

Conduct tests on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal operation and performance.

• Troubleshooting and Repairs:

Diagnose and resolve defects in electrical systems, including control and monitoring systems, and perform routine maintenance and repairs.

• Instrumentation:

Calibrate and use instrumentation and diagnostic tools for system analysis.

Quality and Safety Assurance

• Compliance: Ensure that all installations and repairs comply with design specifications, safety standards, and electrical codes.
• Quality Control: Inspect designs and finished products to guarantee quality.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and system conditions.

Collaboration and Communication

• Teamwork: Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members to resolve design and operational problems and meet project deadlines.
• Client Interaction: Work with clients on-site to address needs and provide information.

Requirements:

• Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma Electrical Engineering Technology or related field
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
• A minimum of five (5) years of prior experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician
• Excellent problem-solving and technical skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
