Position: Chef

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Point Cook VIC 3030

Our client is seeking a skilled Chef to join their team located in Point Cook, Victoria.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, menu specifications, and quality standards.
• Plan and assist with menu development, including creating new dishes and improving existing menu items.
• Ensure meals are presented neatly, consistently, and served within required timeframes.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, flavour, presentation, and portion control.
• Assist with estimating food requirements and controlling food costs.
• Manage stock rotation, minimise food wastage, and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Receive, inspect, and store food supplies in accordance with food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across kitchen areas, equipment, and food preparation areas.
• Follow food safety, workplace health, and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate kitchen operations during service periods to ensure smooth workflow.
• Work effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to deliver quality service.
• Assist in training and supervising junior kitchen staff where required.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.

Requirements:

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma qualification in relevant field or overseas equivalent
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience as a Chef or similar role
• Prior experience preparing Asian cuisine

• Be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
