Salary: $79,493 plus superannuation per annum

Our client is seeking a Carpenter to join their team working on projects throughout Sydney, New South Wales.

The Carpenter will perform skilled carpentry work across the business’s construction and renovation projects. The role involves reading plans, setting out work, constructing and installing structural elements and fixtures, and completing work to the required quality and safety standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interpret plans, drawings and specifications to determine materials, measurements and construction methods.
• Measure, cut, shape and assemble timber and other building materials.
• Construct and install wall frames, roof framing, subfloors, flooring, cladding and other structural elements.
• Fit doors, windows, skirting boards, architraves and other fixtures.
• Carry out repairs and renovations to existing structures.
• Check that completed work is level, aligned and compliant with project specifications.
• Coordinate with supervisors, other trades and subcontractors to complete work on schedule.
• Use and maintain carpentry tools and equipment and follow workplace safety procedures.

Requirements:

• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV relevant to Carpentry
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
• At least one (1) year of relevant experience as a Carpenter
• White card
• Valid NSW driver’s licence
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and work independently.
• Experience in residential or commercial construction relevant to the business’s projects.
• Sound knowledge of construction methods and workplace safety requirements.
