Our client MendozAccounts is seeking an experienced Accounant to join their team in Milton, Queensland.

MendozAccounts provides comprehensive accounting and financial solutions for service-based entrepreneurs and businesses. Their services include bookkeeping, payroll, cash management, tax planning and preparation, SMSF planning, and business advisory, including specialised accounting services for lawyers and law firms. They are committed to delivering accurate, practical, and personalised solutions that help their clients achieve their financial goals and grow their businesses.

They are seeking a highly capable and commercially minded Accountant to take ownership of client financial operations and deliver strategic accounting solutions within MendozAccounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Australian taxation and accounting practices, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage financial tasks efficiently and accurately.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing, overseeing, and mentoring junior accountants working offshore, ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance. You will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the firm, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and supporting the achievement of our broader business objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of clients and oversee their accounting, taxation, and compliance requirements.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, reconciliations, and tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with Australian accounting, taxation, SMSF, and trust accounting requirements.
• Review bookkeeping, tax, and SMSF work for accuracy and quality.
• Manage, supervise, and train junior accountants and offshore team members in the Philippines.
• Coordinate team workflows, deadlines, and client deliverables.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support to clients and team members.
• Communicate effectively with Filipino/Tagalog-speaking clients and offshore staff where required.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, professionalism, confidentiality, and client service.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Commenced or working towards CA, CPA or equivalent (Accountant level)
• Proven experience as an Accountant, with strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• At least (3) three years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g Xero) and MS Office Suite
• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive, proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
• Ability to speak Filipino.
