Our client BJ & JF Booker is a family-run agricultural business located in Combaning, New South Wales. They produce high-quality wheat, barley, canola, sheep meat, and wool across multiple farming properties throughout rural New South Wales. With over a decade of sustainable and innovative farming practices, they are seeking a dedicated Primary Products Inspector to join their growing team. You will report to our Operations Manager/ business owners.

About the Role

As a Primary Products Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of our farm produce and livestock outputs. You will play a key role in our quality assurance program, supporting both crop and livestock operations across our extensive holdings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting routine inspections of the farm products to ensure they meet industry and regulatory standards. Those including:
• Inspect harvested grain (e.g. wheat, barley, canola) for pests, diseases, moisture content, and contamination
• Examine livestock (sheep) for health, welfare, and market readiness
• Ensure adherence to biosecurity, food safety, and WHS standards
• Monitor soil and crop samples as part of ongoing testing and improvement programs
• Maintain detailed inspection records and report on product quality to operations managers
• Liaise with production teams and third-party auditors during certification and compliance processes
• Assist with post-harvest inspections and machinery hygiene verification
• Contribute to the implementation of QA improvements and training of junior staff if necessary.

Requirements:

• Diploma or advanced diploma or higher in Agriculture, Animal Science, QA, or equivalent
• At least three (3) years of experience in agricultural (crops and livestock) quality control, product inspection, or a similar assurance-based role, preferably in Australian agriculture industry
• Familiarity with biosecurity protocols, food safety regulations, and sustainable farming practices
• Strong understanding of crop handling, livestock welfare, and regulatory standards
• Attention to detail with accurate record-keeping
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use testing tools and equipment, Familiarity with grain testing equipment and livestock handling is an advantage
• Ability to work independently
