Our client is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to join their team located in Sunbury, Victoria.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identifying and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues in engines and related components using both manual inspection and diagnostic tools.
Dismantling engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other components for detailed inspection and repair.
Repairing or replacing worn, damaged, or defective parts, and reassembling components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service manuals.
Conducting routine maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to enhance vehicle performance and meet environmental standards.
Rebuilding engines and related systems after repairs are completed, ensuring all components are correctly installed.
Testing and fine-tuning mechanical systems post-repair to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
Using computerized diagnostic equipment to assess vehicle systems and identify faults accurately.
Inspecting vehicles to determine roadworthiness, and either issuing certificates or outlining necessary repairs to meet safety standards.
Responding to roadside service calls and providing on-the-spot diagnostics and minor repairs when needed.
Requirements:
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in relevant field
At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
At least 2 to 3 years of proven experience working as a motor mechanic
Valid Victorian driver’s licence (manual)
Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repairs
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
