Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $76,515 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Sunbury VIC 3429

Our client is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to join their team located in Sunbury, Victoria.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identifying and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues in engines and related components using both manual inspection and diagnostic tools.
• Dismantling engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other components for detailed inspection and repair.
• Repairing or replacing worn, damaged, or defective parts, and reassembling components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service manuals.
• Conducting routine maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to enhance vehicle performance and meet environmental standards.
• Rebuilding engines and related systems after repairs are completed, ensuring all components are correctly installed.
• Testing and fine-tuning mechanical systems post-repair to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
• Using computerized diagnostic equipment to assess vehicle systems and identify faults accurately.
• Inspecting vehicles to determine roadworthiness, and either issuing certificates or outlining necessary repairs to meet safety standards.
• Responding to roadside service calls and providing on-the-spot diagnostics and minor repairs when needed.

Requirements:

• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in relevant field
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
• At least 2 to 3 years of proven experience working as a motor mechanic
• Valid Victorian driver’s licence (manual)
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repairs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
