Dishes are prepared daily using exceptional quality ingredients sourced from Japan and Australia to optimise the original flavour and showcase their Cook’s skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparing a variety of dishes to the highest standard using fresh, high-quality ingredients
Ensuring consistency in the presentation and quality of all menu items
Prepare sushi, sashimi, and rolls—including specialty half-rolls and bowls—with precision and attention to presentation quality.
Collaborating with the kitchen team to develop new and creative menu offerings
Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient workstation
Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
Assisting with inventory management and ordering of supplies
Providing exceptional customer service and contributing to a positive work environment.
Requirements:
Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery or a Diploma in a related field.
Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Chef/Cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment
Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine is a bonus
Strong knife skills and knowledge of sushi preparation techniques (preferably with formal apprenticeship training)
Familiarity with Japanese culinary etiquette and values (e.g., respect for ingredients, precision in presentation).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with consistency and composure.
Basic understanding of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen best practices.
