Position: Accountant

Position Type: Full-Time / Ongoing

Salary: $72,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation per annum

Our client Maxim is a growing business located in Gepps Cross, South Australia—an established commercial and logistics hub in Adelaide’s northern suburbs. They specialise in providing financial and operational support services across multiple sectors, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients. As part of their business expansion and commitment to financial excellence, they are seeking a qualified Accountant to join their professional team.

As an Accountant you will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with tax obligations, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial accuracy and stability of our organisation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile financial records and general ledgers
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and tax returns
• Manage accounts receivable/payable and payroll functions
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and cash flow forecasts
• Ensure compliance with ATO and ASIC requirements
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions
• Use accounting software including MYOB, Xero, and Excel for reporting.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Accounting (mandatory)
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience in an accounting role
• Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation laws
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or similar
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
• CPA/CA qualification (desirable but not required)
