Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Our client AUSTATE Services is seeking an experienced Vehicle Painter with over 5 years of work experience as an Automotive spray painter.

AUSTATE Services specialise in the custom manufacture of Truck Bodies, Trailers and modifications for your prized items. They also specialise in the repair and restoration of heavy vehicles in addition to new Trailer Sales and Servicing. With 30 years of experience backing them in the transport and distribution industry, they value professional business practices, high standards for safety, great quality and consider environmental impacts seriously.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, filling, and priming them to ensure a smooth and durable paint application.
• Grit blasting
• Match colours and mix paints to achieve the desired shade, often for repairs or custom designs.
• Apply paint using various methods, including spray guns, brushes, and rollers, ensuring even and accurate coverage.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment to ensure it operates effectively and safely.
• Follow health and safety procedures, wear necessary PPE, and maintain a clean workspace.
• Communicating with supervisors about paint jobs and timelines.

The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and highly motivated and have the following skills and experience:

• Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in relevant field
• At least five (5) years of recent experience as an automotive painter
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Good attitude, with excellent communication skills
• High attention to detail.
• The ability to take direction and show initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, hardworking and a team player.
• Availability to work overtime when needed.
