Position: Taxation Accountant

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $77,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Glynde SA 5070

Our client is a well-established Australian accounting and taxation practice providing comprehensive tax, compliance, and advisory services to individuals, small businesses, and corporate clients. The firm is known for its strong client relationships, practical advice, and high professional standards. Due to continued growth they are seeking an experienced Taxation Accountant to join their team in Glynde, South Australia.

As a Taxation Accountant you will be responsible for delivering high-quality taxation and accounting services to a diverse client base. This role requires strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation law and the ability to manage client matters independently.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and lodge individual, partnership, trust, company, and SMSF tax returns
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
• Manage fixed asset registers, including depreciation calculations in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
• Provide tax compliance and advisory services to Australian clients
• Review and reconcile client accounts and general ledgers
• Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on behalf of clients
• Ensure compliance with Australian taxation legislation and reporting obligations
• Maintain accurate client records and working papers
• Provide professional advice and respond to client queries in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Professional Accounting or higher qualification
• Completion of formal studies in Australian Taxation law
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience as an Australian Taxation Accountant
• Demonstrated experience working with Australian tax law and ATO requirements
• Strong experience preparing Australian tax returns and BAS
• Hands-on experience with MYOB and Xero
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to manage multiple client files and meet deadlines
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team.
