Position: Sheet Metal Worker

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Acacia Ridge QLD 4110

Our client is seeking a Sheet Metal Worker to join their team located in Acacia Ridge, Queensland.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up sheet metal items and parts.
• Use callipers, rulers, and squares to accurately measure and mark dimensions.
• Create and maintain items made from sheet metals such as steel, iron, aluminium, and copper.
• Sheet metal workers must be detail oriented and accurately follow blueprints and technical sketches to determine job, material, and equipment requirements.
• Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products and components that adhere to specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings. This can include ductwork, HVAC systems, and roofing.
• Have knowledge about selecting metal stock, such as stainless steel, galvanised iron, mild steel, aluminium, and copper.
• Be able to check sizes, gauges, and other dimensions of metal stock against specifications.
• Use tools such as laser and plasma cutters, shears, brakes, and punches, to cut, shape, and form sheet metal into desired shapes and sizes.
• Use folding and bending machines, rollers, presses and hammers to manipulate and form metal stock into products.
• Assemble components into final products via the methods of welding, riveting, soldering, brazing and otherwise joining.
• Be able to work collaboratively with the team and adhere to safety protocols.

Requirements:

• AQF Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working as a Sheet Metal Worker or in a similar role.
