Our client SBITH Pty Ltd, trading as Snappys Pizza and Kebab Wallan, is a well-established fast-food and takeaway restaurant located in the fast-growing township of Wallan, Victoria. The business specialises in pizzas, kebabs, sides, snacks, and a variety of popular takeaway food items, catering to both dine-in and takeaway customers.

Snappys Pizza and Kebab is known for fresh ingredients, quick service, generous portions, and consistent quality. The business serves a diverse customer base including local residents, commuters, visitors, and families. The company is committed to maintaining high standards in customer service, food quality, hygiene, and operational efficiency.

With a growing customer demand, the business requires a capable Retail Manager to oversee daily operations, lead staff, and support ongoing business growth.

As a Retail Manager you will be responsible for the complete day-to-day operation of Snappys Pizza and Kebab Wallan. This role ensures the restaurant meets operational, financial, staffing, customer service, and compliance goals.

Key duties include staff supervision, stock and supplier management, food safety compliance, rostering, customer service oversight, cost control, and reporting to the Director. The Retail Manager is central to maintaining a smooth workflow, high service quality, and continuous business improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management

• Oversee all daily restaurant operations to ensure efficient and timely service.
• Maintain high standards in food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
• Implement systems to optimise workflow and service speed during peak periods.

Staff Supervision & HR

• Recruit, train, roster, supervise, and mentor staff members.
• Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues.
• Promote a positive, collaborative, and productive team culture.
• Ensure staff compliance with workplace policies, food safety expectations, and customer service standards.

Inventory & Supplier Management

• Monitor stock levels, oversee daily/weekly ordering, and manage supplier relationships.
• Implement stock rotation and wastage-control practices.
• Ensure all ingredients and products meet business quality standards.

Customer Service & Complaints Handling

• Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain a customer-focused environment at all times.
• Ensure staff deliver friendly, accurate, and efficient service.

Financial & Compliance Responsibilities

• Monitor sales performance, profitability, and key financial indicators.
• Prepare reports including daily takings, expenses, wastage, and KPI results.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health and safety laws, and internal policies.
• Assist with implementing pricing strategies, menu changes, and cost-control initiatives.

Business Strategy & Marketing

• Develop and support local marketing initiatives to increase business exposure.
• Assist with promotional activities, online reviews, and menu development ideas.
• Analyse customer trends and recommend improvements to enhance business growth.

Reporting

• Provide regular updates to the Director regarding operational issues, staffing, financial performance, and business needs.

Requirements:

• Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher qualification
• Minimum 12 months experience in retail, fast-food, or restaurant management.
• Experience supervising staff and managing operational activities.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering strong customer service and meeting business KPIs.
• Strong leadership and staff management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service capabilities.
• In-depth understanding of food safety and WHS requirements.
• Ability to manage fast-paced operations effectively.
• High level of organisation, time management, and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Competent in POS systems, rostering tools, and basic financial reporting.

Employment Conditions

• Position Type: Full-Time (38 hours per week).
• Location: Snappys Pizza and Kebab Wallan – 3/41 High Street, Wallan VIC 3756.
• Hours: Rotational roster including weekday, weekend, evening, and public holiday shifts.
