Our client Fresh Construction, based in Adelaide, specialises in the supply and installation of retaining walls, along with the necessary earthworks. They are currently looking for an Other Draftsperson to join their team in Lonsdale, South Australia

Tasks required include:

• Working closely with the director to deliver cost estimates, plans and drawings for retaining wall projects up to the tendering settlement stage.
• Reviewing construction documents and understanding scope of work to bid
• Prepare, review, revise and analyse drawings, plans, charts, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labour estimates for projects
• Preparing detailed quantity take-offs of construction documents
• Obtaining and reviewing quotations from subcontractors
• Preparing cost analysis by recapitulating material, labour, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items
• Informing Managing Director of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database
• Interpret, and analyze Civil, Structural, Architectural, and Landscape drawings, both residential and commercial, to determine the exact location of retaining walls
• Prepare retaining wall location plan, elevation, and detailed drawing through AutoCAD Software
• Prepare material quantity estimates and detailed take off based on the approved drawings and specifications.
• Produce 3D models and images to be presented to clients
• Building strong internal and external relationships.

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
• Have a good grasp of maths, data analysis, good organisation, critical thinking, to be detail orientated, have effective communication skills, good time management and good technical skills.
• Prior experience working with a company specialising in retaining wall projects with a solid understanding of the processes.
• Must be prepared to work weekends
• Must also be available to travel as required
• Must have the time to work at night as required.

You must also have the below software capabilities:

• Excellent in MS Office
• Excellent in AutoCad
• Proficient in 3D modelling softwares like Sketchup, 3Dsmax or Revit
• Proficient in 3D rendering software like Vray, Lumion or D5
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop.
