Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.
Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other parts for inspection and repair.
Repair or replace worn and defective components and reassemble mechanical systems according to manufacturer specifications and service manuals.
Perform scheduled maintenance services including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups, and other preventative maintenance tasks.
Reassemble engines and vehicle parts after repairs are completed.
Test and adjust repaired mechanical parts to ensure proper performance and vehicle safety.
Use computer diagnostic equipment to identify faults and test vehicle systems and components.
Inspect vehicles and identify work required to meet roadworthiness standards.
Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls when required.
Requirements:
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in relevant trade
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic
Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and computerized testing equipment.
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
