Position: Motor Mechanic

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Sydney NSW 2000

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.
• Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other parts for inspection and repair.
• Repair or replace worn and defective components and reassemble mechanical systems according to manufacturer specifications and service manuals.
• Perform scheduled maintenance services including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups, and other preventative maintenance tasks.
• Reassemble engines and vehicle parts after repairs are completed.
• Test and adjust repaired mechanical parts to ensure proper performance and vehicle safety.
• Use computer diagnostic equipment to identify faults and test vehicle systems and components.
• Inspect vehicles and identify work required to meet roadworthiness standards.
• Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls when required.

Requirements:

• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in relevant trade
• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and computerized testing equipment.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
