Salary: $77,000 to $81,000 plus superannuation per annum

Our client La Cucina Melbourne is an established Italian restaurant located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, operated by Ashta & Co Pty Ltd. The Hospitality Services Manager is a senior front-of-house leadership role responsible for the planning, organisation and overall management of the restaurant’s service operations, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests while supporting the commercial performance of the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, organise, direct and oversee the day-to-day front-of-house and customer service operations of the restaurant to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of dining services.
• Coordinate reservations, table allocation, seating and guest flow to maximise covers while maintaining the quality of the dining experience.
• Recruit, induct, roster, supervise, train and appraise front-of-house staff, setting service standards and monitoring performance.
• Liaise closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to coordinate food service, menu delivery, specials and timing between kitchen and floor.
• Maintain consistently high standards of customer service, greet and host guests, respond to enquiries and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
• Oversee the use of the point-of-sale system, cash handling, daily takings, end-of-day reconciliation and banking.
• Manage online ordering, table-booking and food-delivery platforms, and monitor and respond to online reviews to protect and enhance the venue’s reputation.
• Monitor, order and control front-of-house stock including beverages, and liaise with suppliers to ensure adequate inventory at the right cost.
• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing conditions, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), food safety, hygiene and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Plan and coordinate functions, private bookings, events and promotional activities in conjunction with management.
• Contribute to budgeting, cost control, pricing and the overall financial performance of the venue, and report on service metrics to the General Manager.
• Maintain the presentation, cleanliness, ambience and safety of the dining area and customer-facing areas of the premises.

Requirements:

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher in hospitality management or equivalent
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
• Demonstrated experience in a supervisory hospitality or service role.
• Proven experience managing front-of-house operations in a busy restaurant or hospitality venue.
• Strong leadership, staff supervision and rostering capability.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound knowledge of liquor licensing, RSA, food safety and workplace health and safety obligations.
• Competence with point-of-sale systems, booking platforms and basic financial/stock administration.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
