Position: Diesel Motor Mechanic

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $75,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Welshpool WA 6106

Our client is seeking an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join their team in Welshpool, Western Australia.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines vehicles and parts
• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
• Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical and pneumatic components, and referring to service manuals as needed
• Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubricants and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
• Diagnosing, repairing and testing diesel fuel systems, induction systems, hydraulic systems and air systems for proper performance and function.
• Reassembling diesel engines and parts after being repaired
• Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
• Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers
• May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness
• May respond to vehicle breakdown service calls.

Requirements:

• Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology
• At least 12 months of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic (Diesel)
• Valid Australian driver’s licence
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Good problem-solving and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations.
