Salary: $77,000 to $81,000 plus superannuation per annum

Our client is seeking a skilled Chef to join their café located in Shepparton, Victoria.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that all dishes meet high-quality standards and are served promptly.
Create and develop recipes, determining the presentation of each dish.
Plan menus while maintaining a focus on meal quality and diversity.
Estimate food consumption and initiate requisitions or purchases accordingly.
Oversee each department’s daily orders based on par stock levels for the following day.
Manage proper receiving, storage, and rotation of products, adhering to set standards.
Minimize waste by implementing careful ordering, organized storage, following proven recipes, and creatively using leftover food. Regularly review the waste/spoilage log.
Effectively manage the kitchen, ensuring compliance with all best practices and standards.
Ensure daily compliance with safety standards and sanitary requirements in all kitchen operations.
Train and guide kitchen staff on best practices and hygiene standards.
Oversee catering events, ensuring the successful execution of culinary services.
Provide culinary instruction and demonstrations of techniques as required.
Identify opportunities for improvement in kitchen operations and implement changes as needed.
Maintain open and effective communication with kitchen staff, management, and other relevant departments.
Requirements:
AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality Management
Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience as a Chef
Previous experience working in a café, preparing a range of café-style meals.
