Salary: $76,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Notting Hill VIC 3168 – Various construction sites across Victoria

Our client EWH Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Bricklayer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials to construct and repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures. This position requires a skilled tradesperson who can work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality brickwork on residential and commercial construction projects throughout Victoria.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and materials needed
• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry materials to construct walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures
• Mix mortar and grout to the required consistency for various bricklaying applications
• Set out work from plans, using levels, plumb bobs, squares, and other measuring equipment to ensure accuracy
• Cut bricks and blocks to size using hand and power tools
• Apply and smooth mortar joints using jointing tools and trowels
• Install wall ties, damp-proof courses, flashings, and other building components
• Construct decorative brickwork features including feature walls, archways, and curved walls
• Repair and maintain existing brickwork, including repointing and replacing damaged bricks
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding as required for work at heights
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and workplace health and safety requirements
• Coordinate with other trades including carpenters, plumbers, and electricians
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential:

• Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying (CPC33020) or equivalent qualification
• 6 to 12 months of experience as a qualified Bricklayer
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Proficiency in using bricklaying tools, equipment, and machinery
• Strong knowledge of building codes and workplace health and safety regulations
• Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card)
• Current Australian driver’s licence (preferred)

Desirable:

• Working at Heights licence
• Scaffolding licence (Basic or Intermediate)
• Forklift licence
• First Aid Certificate

Employment Conditions

• Annual Salary: $76,600 – $80,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)
• Superannuation: 12% employer contribution (as per statutory requirements)
• Annual Leave: 4 weeks paid annual leave per year
• Personal/Carer’s Leave: 10 days paid personal/carer’s leave per year
• Award Coverage: Building and Construction General On-site Award 2020
