Our client Launceston Holiday Park is seeking an experienced Accommodation Manager to join their holiday park located in Legana, Tasmania.

Launceston Holiday Park is an established holiday park comprising 21 cabins, an onsite 2‑bedroom guest unit and powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites, with associated guest facilities. Datwani Pty Ltd took over the operation of the park in August 2026 under a ten‑year lease, and no employees transferred with the business.

The Accommodation and Hospitality Manager is the single point of operational accountability for the park. The position is responsible for organising, directing and controlling the whole of the day‑to‑day operation – reservations and revenue through the RoomMaster property management system, online distribution channels, reception and guest services, after‑hours arrivals, housekeeping and accommodation standards, grounds and maintenance, staff supervision and rostering, purchasing, regulatory and work health and safety compliance, and reporting to the Director. The Director is not resident onsite and retains only financial control, capital expenditure and major business decisions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, organise and control all accommodation reservations for the park’s cabins, onsite unit and caravan and camping sites, using RoomMaster as the single source of inventory, rates, availability, guest records and payments.
• Manage online distribution channels including Booking.com and Expedia together with the direct booking position, maintaining live 24‑hour availability; set and adjust tariffs, minimum stays and promotional rates in response to demand, forward bookings and seasonal periods.
• Monitor occupancy, average nightly rate, forward bookings, cancellations and no‑shows, and take action to protect and grow revenue.
• Direct and oversee reception, check‑in, check‑out and all guest‑facing activity, including the after‑hours check‑in and key box arrangements for pre‑arranged late arrivals.
• Respond to guest enquiries, requests and complaints, resolve operational issues onsite, assess and review customer satisfaction including online reviews and ratings, and escalate matters requiring an owner decision.
• Provide guests with local tourism information for the Tamar Valley and northern Tasmania, and arrange or advise on tours, attractions and transport; plan and organise onsite guest activities and seasonal events.
• Direct and oversee all housekeeping activity, set daily priorities against arrivals and departures, inspect cabins, sites and amenities against documented standards, and manage linen, amenities and consumable stock.
• Plan, schedule and oversee maintenance, repairs and grounds work; allocate and prioritise jobs to the maintenance staff; engage, brief and sign off external contractors and trades; and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule and asset register.
• Select, induct, train, roster and supervise housekeeping, maintenance and casual seasonal staff; set performance and service standards; verify timesheets and manage wage cost within budget.
• Take responsibility for the health and safety of guests, staff and contractors, and ensure compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (Tas), caravan park and camping ground, planning, health and hygiene, fire, gas and electrical safety requirements, and any liquor or gaming requirements should such activities be introduced.
• Oversee purchasing, supplier negotiation, stock control, invoice verification and day‑to‑day accounting administration including deposits, payments, refunds, daily reconciliation and banking, and control operating costs against budget.
• Report to the Director on occupancy, forward bookings, revenue, channel performance, wage and operating cost, maintenance status and guest feedback, and contribute to budgeting, tariff setting and business planning.

Requirements:

• A qualification at AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher level (or recognised overseas equivalent) in hospitality management, hotel management, tourism or business administration; OR at least three (3) years of relevant full‑time management experience in substitution, consistent with ANZSCO Skill Level 2.
• At least three (3) years’ recent, relevant experience managing an accommodation property – hotel, motel, holiday park, resort or comparable establishment – with genuine responsibility for the daily operation.
• Demonstrated experience directing reservations, reception and front office operations, including use of a property management system and online channel management (RoomMaster or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in rate and yield management, occupancy and revenue monitoring, and use of booking data to make operational decisions.
• Demonstrated experience directing and supervising housekeeping and maintenance staff, including work allocation, rostering, standards setting and inspection.
• Demonstrated experience in guest service and complaint resolution, including management of online guest reviews.
• Working knowledge of work health and safety obligations applicable to accommodation premises.
• Sound commercial and financial literacy – budgets, operating costs, purchasing, reconciliation and reporting to ownership.
• Excellent spoken and written English, strong interpersonal skills, a current driver’s licence.
