Our client is seeking an experienced Cook to join their team in Drummoyne, New South Wales.
The Cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting meals in accordance with the café’s menu, recipes, portion standards, and quality expectations. The role includes preparing ingredients, cooking breakfast and lunch menu items, operating kitchen equipment safely, maintaining food presentation standards, and ensuring meals are prepared efficiently during service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparing and cooking meals according to the established menu and recipes
Preparing ingredients including meats, vegetables, sauces, garnishes, and other kitchen items
Ensuring food is cooked and presented to a high standard
Assisting with breakfast, lunch, and café-style menu service
Monitoring portion control, food quality, and consistency
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and workstations
Following food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures
Checking food stock levels and assisting with stock rotation
Minimising food wastage and ensuring ingredients are stored correctly
Working with kitchen staff and front-of-house staff to ensure timely food service
Assisting with general kitchen duties as required.
Requirements:
Certificate IV in Kitchen Management
At least three (3) years of proven experience in a commercial kitchen setting
Previous experience working in a fast-paced café environment, with hands-on experience preparing and serving café-style meals.
